Just bought my third pair of Scarpa Instincts (laces). Previous two pairs have had XSGrip2 rubber, this latest pair has Edge rubber. What's going on?! Anyone else come across this change?

In reply to whenry: Yeah. Scarpa are switching to edge because apparently the new version is better. On their newer shoes they make up for it by using thinner edge rubber than they would if they were using grip. Apparently this way it's just as sensitive as grip but edges better... Not entirely sure everyone would agree with that though.

I really liked my lace instincts when they were half worn out, without a proper edge and mega soft. They were pretty much perfect and then I went and got them resoled with 4.2mm stealth...

In reply to And Climb: Cheers - I hadn't heard that. I guess I'll find out soon enough what the change is like. This is my third pair, and I found they bedded down really well too... shame the last ones got obliterated by rock fall.
