Going there in April. Any recommendations on what to do? There seems to be an unpisted area?

Also, is it allowed in Italy to skin up the sides of the pistes (as I do in France)?

Just wondering what it's like....???

Just got back from Livigno. The snow was good in Livigno but it's getting slushy at lower slopes. Not too bad yet. Bormio looked like it still had snow on the pistes all the way down at the moment but not as much as Livigno. It has been 7-8 straight sunshine so it's getting really warm. Check if you get any snow until April. Otherwise you can always drive to Trapalle and ski on the Mottolino side of Livigno. In Livigno we saw people skinning up the blue slopes but not sure if you need permission.
