The budget didn't give any vat relief for MRT, but it did for a couple of other rescue teams here in Cumbria, the ambulance helicopter's fuel and inshore rescue. Both are worthy causes, but I thought that the RNLI was vat proof anyway, unless this is an addition to their vat proof status.
(I contribute to the RNLI by the way as our family, having been seafarers have lost some of our own to the sea, so no prejudice there). But I still don't see how the MRT can't have the same concessions.
