When a car has a rear light not working, it's usually the left side that's bust. This applies equally to brake & side/running lights.

Any idea why?

Confirmation bias.

In reply to Chris Harris:

If* there is any truth to this, it's probably because it's the nearside of the car - near all the potholes and puddles.

* I suspect confirmation bias

I'd go with the previous two answers: Vibration and or confirmation bias.

I have found that whenever a rear light goes out on my car it is ALWAYS one of the lights at the back that goes.

Can anyone explain this?

Someone you live with is f*cking with you, the left side of your car is closest to your house.
