Hi all,

Looking at heading across to the Cambrian mountains for the weekend, have been reading some mixed reviews elsewhere. Has anyone been there? Looking to start from either Beulah or Tregaron.

Any advice much appreciated,

Jon

In reply to Jonshef:

Expect tussock, especially in the deep southern (empty) quarter. Deep deep tussock. You can get stuck for days in it.
Bog too. Even a bothy or two and some remote lakes.
Wonderful place but I am a bit biased.

Some of the roughest walking country I've been in anywhere!

Tim Sparrow's spot on: Wynford Vaughan Thomas called the empty quarter "the green desert of Wales" but we've now got an even more evocative name for the area.
