Recomend me some good road pedals.

Normally, I'd buy another pair of Shimano Ultegra ones, but as these are going on a bike with Campag groupset, they'd look out of place

Are the Campag pedals any good, or should I be looking at Look or Time???

Need to buy/order them tomorrow, as I am getting measured for my new bike on Friday - not sure what yet, but will narrow down the choice of frames

Thanks in advance.

I've bought a couple of pairs of Mavic race pedals. Chain Reaction had them on offer, feather light with Ti axles in and at £80 a pair with two pairs of cleats. Really nice pedals

Those Mavic ones look remarkably similar to the Time Xpresso pedals!

I suppose there are only so many shapes a pedal can be?

CRC have sold out but Sigma have them at £100 per pair. 110g each!

Hehehe, don't discount speedplay - for those of us who are old and rusty and have knee issues, their amount of float is every old git's dream.

Just realised I got confused and thought you were talking about the Mavic Zxellium pedals, not the Race ones (not enough sleep lately!). I was in Sigma a couple of weeks ago, but wasn't looking for pedals at the time, or I might have given them consideration

In the end, I bought the Time Xpresso 10 pedals from Merlin Cycles.

Couldn't get my head around the Speedplay ones and didn't want to mess around with specialist shoes/adapter plates.

Time pedals are good - I use the I-clics on my roadie. I find the cleats wear our quite quickly though. Mine lasted less than 2000km, though I do commute on my roadie so they get more wear.

I wouldn't buy Speedplay on principle because of the horrible behaviour of that company in launching lawsuits against people posting details online of how to replace bearings in the pedals as an alternative to getting royally ripped off by Speedplay who were insisting only they should be doing it (at vast expense) and that for some obscure reason it should be a back to base process. My pound goes elsewhere
