I think the only solution to this sort of problem is on-the-spot execution. I can't think of anything else which would be appropriate or effective.

I came across carved graffiti in Antelope slot canyon too. The local photographer Fatali was done for vandalism after he lit a small fire under Delicate Arch, using a barbecue tray, which melted onto the sandstone!
Closing the whole of Arches seems a bit odd though?!

Me neither. 21 years since I was in Arches NP. The very idea of carving anything on those rocks...
