Sad news indeed, her books gave pleasure to many, and were very funny

> Novelist Sue Townsend, best known as the author of the highly successful Adrian Mole series of books, has died, a family friend has confirmed. Townsend died at home on Thursday after a short illness. The first of her comic series, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, aged 13 3/4, was published in 1982 and the eighth instalment, Adrian Mole: The Prostrate Years, was released in 2009. Her other best-selling novels included The Queen and I.

Yes, I did, starting with the first. I also read her other books, she was an amusing author.

Sad to hear. I was at that age when the books came out...

Sadly for me the later Adrian Mole books just didn't have the punch.

Nevertheless, it was an important part of my youth.
