Any recommendations for the above, lasting about a week to 10 days.
Having done the GR20 last summer we are looking for something similar but a bit shorter, a lot less busy, and travelling lighter (in particular without needing to take a tent).
Would like dramatic rock scenery and would quite enjoy options of a few peaks and klettersteige (via ferrata) but don't want to have to take snow and ice gear.
Have suggested Austria as huts seem to be much better and quieter than Italian ones in general.

Thanks for any suggestions.

The Stubai Hoehenweg may fit the bill.

There are good bus connections between Innsbruck main railway station and Neustift in the Stubaital, in case you are not driving.

Cicerone press do quite a good guide to walking in Austria, which includes a brief description of this route, although it isn't necessary. There is good info on the website I've linked.

Thanks for the link. Funnily enough I'd just found that route on www.traildino.com/trace/continents-Europe/countries-Austria/trails-Stubaier_Höhenweg
Was a bit put off by it saying it's very popular, but will look into it, thanks
In reply to Alex Pryor:

try the berliner hohenweg in the Zillertal (otherwise known as the Zillertal Rucksack route). I put a few videos up of our tour like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SYqcTLWse4. we did a few extra peaks but this needed climbing kit. the basic tour is easy but rugged and very scenic. - see http://johnfleetwood.smugmug.com/Mountainsfolder/Alps/austria-2010/

Also look up the Lechtaler Hohenweg, it forms part of the high level variation section of the Adlerweg.
