I don't know why I clicked on this thread, I taped Endeavour so I could watch Fargo. Tomorrow night I shall have beer and pizza and Game of Thrones and Endeavour and nobody to interrupt viewing. Oh yes!
I thought the first series was really good and the young Morse's character was more akin to the older one than in the current series.
The second series, although good, is a bit 'Boys Own' at times.
Thought it had been good in the first series but now it seems to have become typical of modern drama starting to disappear up its own backside of over complicated plot-conceits.
Good drama does not require end-of-series cliffhangers which are only there to preserve ratings, so I'm beginning to reconsider my liking for it.
