I'm covered by dogtag

http://www.dogtag.co.uk/

I got their highest level of insurance (extreme I think) because I was going on a caving expedition in Montenegro where if it hit the fan they would have had to call out cave rescue from the UK, which they confirmed (on the phone) they would pay for, with the usual small print.

I'm off to Norway climbing this summer and the rescue over there would be cheap and easy compared to the caving so it should be no problem but given the recent thread about BMC insurances underwriter refusing a recsue claim, does anyone have any experience of dogtag for a climbing rescue? For something like being trapped and/or injured but not reported missing, how likely would they be to pay for the chopper or whatever? Of course I'll read the small print and do more resarch as well.

Cheers

In reply to Red Rover:

I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole from my experience. We had two members of our expedition rescued from Manaslu base camp by helicopter last year due to serious medical issues. After six months of continued email traffic they eventually paid the medical fees in Kathmandu albeit at a huge reduced rate. Currently they have not, and are refusing to pay the helicopter rescue fee for both helicopter rescues. They are not answering our emails and refuse to answer any telephone messages regarding this matter even with the threat of litigation, the bill currently sits with the helicopter and Mountaineering company in Nepal. Both Nepalese companies will not work with DOGTAG anymore as an insurance company and demand you have separate insurance to cover any rescue requirements.
