Er, small amount of detergent in warm water, rinse well and reproof?

Did you know that Pertex was originally typewriter ribbon?

Techwash?

In reply to SophieEmily:

Forget Techwash or anything like that. Use plain soap flakes in your washing machine (about £2 from Boots etc for a box). Better for the wallet, environment, and just as good as anything fancy. Tumble dry afterwards, but not always necessary depending on the fabric. Works well for Goretex.

and if the washing machine stops working its because you've put too much in and the pump is clogged up (easy to drain and unblock though)

Cannae find soap flakes anywhere these days- probably not profitable enough. The last soap I bought was online. You're right though- soap is far, far better value than techwash et al.

Liquid Soap is better than soap flakes. Soap flakes are awkward to dissolve. DP Liquid soap made in derbyshire and bought from waitrose.
