Hi,

I'm wanting to do Tower Ridge this summer

Just looking for any help/info that will help with doing this?

is there a guide book that is worth getting?

In reply to Chris Aston:

Yes, the smc Ben Nevis guide book. Or just follow the crampon scratches...

If you're going to start up a gully, DON'T go up the West gully (the one in front of you as you approach)

When I first did it as a youngster, we took way too much gear with us because it turns out that most of it is a walk - a wonderful walk above some big drops - but a walk all the same! If you climb what your profile says, I can't imagine you'll have any problems at all if you pick a nice day.

Something like a half rope, a handful of nuts and some slings is about the most gear you'll need. Enjoy it, it's a super day out.

Route finding isn't generally too difficult.
Don't confuse the little tower with the great tower.

The main points of interest on the route are:
Initial chimney
Small buttress further than chimney
Little tower
Great tower (including the eastern traverse)
Tower gap

There's usually a sling(s) around the block before the gap and you can clip into that as you climb down.

We did it without pitching anything in around 2hrs (I don't know whether that's fast or slow).

Check the conditions before you go to make sure there's not too much snow left over from winter (if you're going in summer you should be fine).

Follow the crampon scratches like someone said before!

Have fun, it's a great day.
