Thanks the lord I started climbing when there was but a single rose strewn paqth through trad rock (with a bit of aid thrown in for wet days) to alpinism and back again (unless you died in the greater ranges). No choices - happy bunnies.

I used to do dabble in the mountaineering scene but it didn't stick for more than a few years. One of the main choosers they missed on the diagram was 'Do you like being cold?' - think the negative response steered me away from cold climbing.

Not sure how you got there but yes, v funny; much safer form of jumping than using human life.

I used to fly hang-gliders and if I went totally soft could always take up model plane flying. In climbing however I can't think of any equivalent - model flying is quite different from spectating.
