Whats the track like up Gleann Taitneach- worth taking bikes if just doing this hill and returning by same route?

Other option is to leave it and do it when do Beinn Lutharn Mhor and Carn Bhac

Long time since I've been, but I think it's pretty good for the flat part of the Glen at least.

Best bike route is probably by Gleann Fearnach, starting at Straloch. Glen Tilt is a good approach too.

Well worth taking bikes. It's an easy ride up to 0771 7608 just after Creag Dallaig and Allt Elrig at which point the track on the N side of Allt Easgaidh changes from Land Rover wide to single track. It's an obvious place to leave the bike.

I've also tried the route up Gleann Fearnach which gives a much longer cycle and a shorter walk. It is tarmaced for a good bit. It's also a much less frequented route but despite this I prefer going up Taitneach and past Loch nan Eun - lovely spot.

Thanks for the replies; will definitely take bikes if do it by itself.

It is very useful to take bikes. It is very amusing to do so in the dark after a skinful in the pub at the Spittal

There is a reason why you and bikes have "history".
