Just a quick note to see if anyone knows if there is any climbing in a travelable distance of Frejus in the South of France.

I'm heading there in June and would like to get a couple of days climbing if possible.

14-27th June if anyone also fancies climbing.

Cheers in advance

Rob, the Gorge du Blavet is about 15 miles away, single and multi-pitch granite.

Plenty to pick from there. Plus you can get to the Verdon in under 2 hours.

Wish I'd done some research before we went out there last year for our summer hols! I took my road bike and must have been less than half a mile awat from Blavet without realising. Plus the fact that there were loads of boulders nearby would have been ideal for an early morning sneak-off.

Cap Dramont is a very pleasant little granite crag close to Frejus,

As said Gorges du Blavet and the headland along the coast are quite good, splendid red rock. There a guide book available, in French and English: "Massif de l'Esterel" by Christian Rive, FFME du Var. It doesn't seem to be available on Amazon though, I think I bought it in Frejus itself.
