As I'm a nostalgic git, and also longing to return to Blighty, I do spend much time, (at work usually,) looking at the work of UK landscape photographers. I have a preference for Devon/Cornwall/Wales, but love all Brit landscapes.

My favourites are the works of

Alex Nail

Gary King

Adam Burton

Adrian Oakes

Anyone care to share a link to their favourites, just to keep my from getting bored at work?

Thanks.

prefer this to many of the above list, some of which seem a bit overcoloured and heavy on the hdr

UKC's own Gordon Stainforth deserves a mention, though I'm not sure how active he is in this field these days.

I really like Lee Chapman's stuff, but he doesn't seem to host many photos online at all. http://www.leechapmangallery.co.uk/default.html

John Davies

Paul Hill

Fay Godwin

Ray Moore

All important and different entirely from the usual pictorial fodder.

In reply to Henry Iddon:

Is Fay Godwin still going?

I got a few of her books & always liked her style.

Richard Long & Hamish Fulton to the list.
 Henry Iddon 08 May 2014
In reply to Tom Last:

No sadly Fay Godwin died in 2005.

Yes Long and Fulton are great, I'm more of a Fulton fan of the two and have a few exhib catalogues. All though I guess you wouldn't refer to either of them as strictly photographers.

Thanks guys, that'll help whittle away the hours till home time!

There was a guy (I think a guy!) on UKC by the name of "fishrider" who did some stunning work in Cornwall, anyone know anything about him?

I'll add Jem Southam to your list. Bill Brandt did some excellent landscapes as well.

Good call. Jem was my tutor at Exeter College of Art and Design and Bill Brandt was actually Jem's tutor iirc.

Happy to be a photographer, even if they're flair didn't quite rub off on me!

There's an article about Jem Southam here, though it's subscription only:

Jem did a great session at Redeye a few years ago. He looks remarkably like a Spitfire pilot though - maybe it's the tash !

He's certainly an intimidating character, tutorials were always a bit nerve wracking. Students used to try to nick his test prints out of the bin; although his discarded test prints were better printed than our finished prints for our degree show.

I don't know if Nadir Khan describes himself as a UK landscape photographer, though his shots certainly do include some landscape pictures. But overall, his standard of pictures is extraordinary.

Some nice stuff. Landscape photography seems to be a bit short of women.

Some really good stuff there, but phew...a clunky website?
In reply to Max Harms: I did a Light & Land workshop with Joe Cornish and learnt so much from him. I also did one with Charlie Waite http://www.charliewaite.com/ and found him inspiring as well. Both of them offered ideas, feedback and encouragement freely to the participants.

Jem was a great resource help when I did my Dissertation years ago and we've met a couple of times since, my personal favourite of his was his Painters Pool work although his Lowry exhibition was very interesting. I quite enjoy Brian David Stevens recent images too http://www.briandavidstevens.com/project/brighter-later/

Henry's ongoing work is also a great project

Thanks Simon. For those not aware of it I assume you're referring to A Place to Go

Yeah Brian's Brighter Later is great - he recently posted some new images I think.
