Picking up my new threadBack buckle harness tomorrow morning, a bargain at a Knockdown 30 Squid, cheers dick.

Now then. Its got a haul Loop on the Back, no Other details on the black Diamond website.

Haul Loop Sounds strong. what does it really Mean?

Im not Planning Hanging anything heavier than a pair of sandals on it, its an American thing i think?

It's a big wall and/or aid climbing thing, so sort of American by default.
It's for tying in a second (third?) rope that you're not using for protection on the pitch you're climbing. (For example a line that you'll be using to haul kit up after you.)

I've used it to hang my bag off, on a long multi-pitch with chimneys.

I use an eco ball, no hauling needed. And no dirty White marks left on the rock...

Unlike Those dirty feckers. You Know who you are... yes you with your chalk bucket and donkey Lines...

Take a towel and Flick your chalk off before you go home...

Sheesh

If we knew what harness it was we could probably be more helpful but all the BD harnesses I know of have a 12kN haul loop, probably they are that strong because they end up that way, they just sew a loop of tape round the main harness. It is sometimes nice to have somewhere stronger than just a crappy gear loop to hand stuff from!
