Hi

Going to Aviemore tomorrow I think. Just wondering if there are any climbers hangouts worth visiting (like a version of the vagabond or something) or whether I should just stick to the youth hostel.

Not going for climbing, not seeking partners, but a place with a decent vibe would be nice. Doing ML prep work.

youll do no better than the syha hostel;plenty of good vibes as there are attractive women staying this time of the year!

+1 for the SYHA. The Skiing Do is the place to eat and drink.

Not in Aviemore but quite close by is the Laird's Bothy on the High St in Kingussie. That was quite fun when I stayed there, though its location right in the middle of the pubs can lead to over-indulgence, especially when you're celebrating getting a job, as I was at the time.

Kingussie is nice because it's a proper Highland village/ town. Whereas Aviemore is just Aviemore, typical of nowhere but itself...
