So thinking I am going to get a clip stick for this summer. Mainly will be peak sport plus a trip or two to Portland and maybe further north.

Just wondering which length clip stick most people find ideal?

Cheers

25 metres suits most UK crags. May want a 40 metre if you plan on spending any time cragging on the continent.

I bought the cheap Simond one from Decathlon and have never felt seriously disadvantaged by not being a member of the Beta Stick Aristocracy.

Ah they don't appear to have any online. DO you know how long it is when extended?

Anything longer than 30cm and it stops being a clipstick and becomes a cheating stick! (From a cynical old trad climber!)

Two metres according to Simond's website

... which seems a little optimistic. It's about the same height as me, so 1.80ish. Has proven adequate so far.
