just watching the BBC drama on Dylan Thomas. Was he really such a complete arse?

He was an alcoholic. This doesn't help anyone avoid arse-ness.

He was also a genius, as he was well aware. Though it might have been better if he hadn't known that.

As a major fan of Dylan Thomas, I cannot but answer "yes".

Despite attending school in West Wales my entire life, I had never heard of Dylan Thomas until I was at university!
