Any TV series worth watching that have hit our screens in the last couple of years?

Just starting the second series of 'House of Cards'. Jolly good it is too.

Just seen the first episode of the second series of House of Cards and I have to say WOW!

That episode alone would have made an epic finale to any series but to open up with that. Things can only get better.

I highly recommend House of Cards. Its a slow burner but the plots are fantastic.

'The Americans' have been very good. 'Vikings' which I think has migrated over also not too shabby.

I've just started on the American House of Cards but if you are on Netflix check out the 90s English original with Ian Richardson - best thing I have seen in a long time.

I need to see the Spacey House of Cards, love the original. GBH is a similar period (slightly earlier?) and absolutely stunning.

Have caught up with 35 episodes of Games of Thrones over the last month and really enjoying it, have to cope with one a week now.

Yes and for some reason we have to wait two weeks for the next episode.

Was it not on tonight? My usual routine is to watch the recording on Tuesday with the girlfriend, it's her Sky subscription.

Yes,it was on tonight(great episode too)but it's not on now for another two weeks.

Anybody else got any suggestions for new TV shows from the last couple of years?

If Netflixing, Sons of Anarchy? We are halfway though the first season and it¡¦s not bad, and by all account gets much better. Californication is great, if that hasn¡¦t been mentioned. I am trying to watch the series of Dusk Til Dawn but am yet to see what it adds to the much better film.

Is this based on the BBC political drama of the same name?
 Morgan Woods 21 May 2014
In reply to The Lemming:

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Fargo yet. If you enjoyed the movie then check out the new series....BBT is awesome as is the guy who played Tim in the Office.

Currently getting into "The Booth at the end", only seen a couple of episodes but it's intriguing.
Breaking Bad is one of the best TV series I've ever seen.
And enjoying Fargo, which is on channel 4 on sunday nights.

Fargo on Channel 4 on Sunday night - a must see.

It uses that as a basis and the writer of the BBC series is quite chuffed.

But I don't recall much muff diving, but it was a long time ago and I was quite young.

As for the first episode of Series Two, it really would have made a jaw dropping end episode and if that episode is to go by the the final episode of Series Two will be phenomenal.

I missed the first episode, however I am recording the series and will hunt out that first show.

For my money Southland was the best American cop show of all time but it's all finished now.
Glad to see someone else rooting for The Good Wife, which has been very moving this last couple of weeks.
 Ava Adore 21 May 2014
In reply to The Lemming:

I had (reasonably) high hopes of the new series of Ironside. 10 minutes in to the first episode I was thoroughly bored.
 Kimono 21 May 2014
In reply to The Lemming:

Another vote for Southland…fantastic stuff.

Orphan Black started well but i am now just a bit bored of it all…especially the brother <groan>

Orange is the new black was fun if a little fantastical (yeah, i know, based on a true story but…)

Mad Men is becoming a weekly chore.

GoT is of course fantastic. However, once they get onto a Feast for Crows, the subject matter gets pretty dull…enjoy it while you can!

Absolutely great if you like old style Western swagger combined with modern day crime drama. Just finished series 4 and was gutted to find out that series 5 isn't available on Blinkbox yet

There are others like GoT but majority of them have already been covered.

The first few episodes of series 1 are a bit weak. So glad we stuck with it. It's brilliant.
