I have just been diagnosed with a SLAP 2 tear in my shoulder. I know I need surgery and have been through the same with my right shoulder but I have a dilemma.

I'm booked to go to Australia for a 3 month climbing trip in September. I can't have the surgery and be climbing in time for then so do I go or do i postpone?

Does anyone have any experience of continuing to climb with a SLAP 2 tear - did it make it worse? what's the risk? were you advised to stop climbing by your orthopaedic consultant or physio?
