I'm away with the family in May half term and will be staying near Cockermouth. Previously I've taken them all (12 in total) to Head End Quarry to set up a top rope and do some single pitch climbing, but I'd like to try another area. Any of you learned folk recommend a good area (with a less than 30 minute walk in)? Don't mind a bit of travel by car to get there.
Most of the climbers are kids aged 6-8 years of age and a few adults will join in too so needs to cater for all if possible.
I can't make a recommendation, but do you have the F&R Eden Valley & South Lakes Limestone guide, as it has several small crags on the northern fringes of the Lakes which haven't been in earlier guides.
