In reply to samwillo: Depending on when you are going, Lorenzo at Hotel Florenz in Finale Borgo will often let you camp on the lawn for a nominal sum. Alternatively, there's the incredible hostel in town overlooking the sea and an absolute bargain price; they lock you out during the day but you'll be cranking so that should work for you.
Well this was a while ago but the campsites on the coast were crowded and expensive. We had a camper so used quiet spots in the hills for one night at a time before moving on. We sensed a bit of hositility from local climbers for this, which I put down to the piles of shite that other wild campers had left at the parking bays at the popular crags. A real shame. Lovely climbing though.
