I'm looking for a small climbing sack for multi-pitch sport routes as I'm going to Sicily for some sport this summer.

Ideally something around 18L.

I like the look of the Petzl Bug and the DMM Zenith, however the latter doesn't have any side compression straps.

Can anyone offer any useful advice?

I have a Pod Granite 16 for that sort of thing and am happy with it. Just big enough, carries and climbs well. Petzl Bug was one of the things I compared it against in the shop.

I saw a nice one in Berghaus for £20...

I use a Deuter Speedlite 20; a friend has the Speedlite 15. We've used them on multi-pitch sport, trad and icefall climbing.

Lightweight, well designed yet very robust. Sits high on your back, well clear of a harness. Hydration sleeve too. Perfect.

I've also got a Marmot Kompressor, but much prefer the Speedlight for climbing .

Check out the Alpkit bags, cheap and fully waterproof, the volume you want as well.

I recently bought a Simond Alpinism 22 from Decathlon. You could probably go lighter if you wanted, but it carries loads well for the type of bag it is, sits high, compression straps, rope/ski attachment strap, daisy chain if you need it. Build quality is not quite at Deuter level, but really not far off, and for £20 it's definitely worth a look.
