Hello all,
Just returned from a fantastic four days in the highlands. Our tent was fine but I realized that I really appreciate a decent porch with the option of mesh. I'm happy to have a smaller tent if I can have more outdoor space. Any recommendation ? Mesh for the midges is my priority, but wanting to be outside as much as possible ??

Not sure what size tent you are after, but the above link should give you plenty of ideas.

What do you mean by a porch with mesh? The majority of tents have a mesh option for the door to the inner but I don't recall seeing one with a mesh flysheet. Wouldn't midges just fly under the edges, or am I misunderstanding?
On those really bad midge evenings/mornings camping in Scotland, I have just retreated to the inner with brief forays to the porch to make a brew.

Whilst it sounds a nice idea, usually the porch usually doesn't seal like that, the mesh works on the sleeping section as it's a self enclosed area. If you find something let us know, its possible or maybe a twin bedroom thing. Or just a oversized sleeping area with no porch might be best.

Some of the tunnels with extended porches have mesh as well as waterproof door material. I think this is one might:

According to the Hilleberg site, some of their extended porch tunnels have mesh doors but they are expensive for what you get, IMO.
