I've put up a premier post about this:

...but I know what we're like at ignoring those so, please mods, can I have a little extra?
I'm sure you've read some of the bunfights on here about the Three Peaks Challenge industry and the issues associated with it e.g.
http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=513318 . There's a book by Ron Turnbull which calls for 3 Peaks by public transport, or self propelled, or any other way you fancy. It's a tricky area as people's motives are often admirable but sometimes the process is hard to justify.
In contrast, Ali Morris starts on his own challenge tomorrow: running, climbing the classic routes, and cycling between them in one continuous effort. Have a look at the PP for details, including the routes. Just for fun he's doing the West Highland Way on a mountain bike en route because the road is just too easy...
You can track Ali's progress live. The charities are related to breast cancer, as Ali's partner Ingrid has recently been undergoing treatment - a bigger challenge in many ways. So if you see a lanky git racing over Snowdon having gone up Y Lliwedd, or later in the week dragging himself up the Ben - give him a smile and wish him luck.
Cheers
