|I had one of the worst commutes of the year last week. Best left unmentioned, but I've ended up with bike chain oil all over my ME Firefox jacket. Does Anybody have any experience/ideas on how to remove some of the stains? or am i better off leaving them rather than possibly compromising the proofing?

Cheers, Alex.

The fabrric is'nt damaged no, just a lot of oil stains. Ive tried running through a wash with pure soap powder as its supposed to be for outdoorwear, but the stains persist .

Cheap face cleaner like this will get the stains out. Use a generous amount and gently wipe with an old towel and repeat. Then wash and reproof with nikwax or similar.

I've used Fenwicks HC-1 Citrus hand cleaner to get oily marks off clothing before, it works quite well. Plenty of other equivalent products on the market too. If it's really ground in rub the soap in with a toothbrush.
