I did snakes and ladders the other weekend. One of the abseiling bolts on the station right of Dinorwig Unconquerable was dangerously loose (sliding out of the bolt hole). We removed the hanger and nut to prevent it being used. The other bolt is bomber but the abb needs another bolt preferably resin as water had got into the loose expansion bolt.

Might be worth making the BMC aware of this so it can be announced at the North Wales meet that is coming up soon.

Hi As noted in the other thread about a loose flake/bolts damaged on slate.

The 'volunteers' that have been involved in this are all busy, as most of them see seasonal fluctuation in their work and now is the busy season.

There are sadly no bolting fairies and this job alone would probably take two days of time what with collecting the equipment from the NWBF and then returning. All that driving about is at their own expense and done on their days off.

Volunteers gave about 12 days of their time in march/april and you can see a overview of what they have done as well as note other problem bolts around the quarries on the page linked below.

I hope you have posted the hanger back to the NWBF, it is quite hard to remove the bolt without at least the bolt on it BTW!
