Chapeau to Alex Dowsett for smashing the 10 mile time trial record previously held by Dr Mike Hutchinson.

That is eye bogglingly fast. 450 watts for 17 minutes!

Yup - 34mph - ouch....I've seen people ride down Mont Ventoux slower than that.

I'd like to see some data on a ride like that, wonder if he'd be a nice guy and bung it up on Strava for us?

I was celebrating at the weekend as I'd knocked my 10mile TT time down a bit.
Now I just feel sick :-P

When you look at E2/10 there isn't much there to slow you down. I've not ridden it but I believe that it is one of those courses that gets faster the more truck traffic that is on it giving a useful tow to riders
In reply to abr1966:

My best ever was a 24.11 - but that was back in 1968 on a steel road bike before aero kit was invented.

That's a very big improvement over Hutchinson's record.

Top time trialists ride so smoothly that the enormous effort involved is not apparent at least on the telly.

I recall reading about someone who fell in with a European pro team out on the road. For a while he was keeping up with them and thinking how well he was doing, then they hit their training speed and he was blown away immediately.
