Hi,

I'd like to get an 80m single rope for single pitch sport climbing as there's a fair few 30-40m single pitch routes around here and I can't keep borrowing my mate's rope. It'll just be used when it is dry (or after-rain-damp) and for working routes; so plenty of falls and hanging around, pulling up on the rope and top-roping.

It doesn't have to be light, just tough.

The best I've found so far is the Edelrid Granit 9.8mm - anyone used that?

Any suggestions?

No, but I bought a 70m 9.4mm Edelrid Falcon quite recently and have been very impressed with its handling and wear. It's very supple, great to clip/pay out and no signs of wear at all after a fair bit of use and some falls. Think I paid about £150 delivered.
