After a break of more than 2 years, I made, yesterday, my first tentative efforts at climbing a mountain! When I say mountain, I should really be honest and say mountain-hut, as my destination was the Refuge de Baroude ! It's still a 20 km round trip, with over 1000m of climbing. The climb to the hut took me a little over 3 hours, so not an exploit ! Even so, I was right chuffed as I had almost lost hope of ever doing something like this again !
As a reward, I bought myself half a bottle of wine and some cheese at the hut. It somehow tastes better at altitude !
