My partner and I need to check out some rental properties, attend some interviews, etc. Either this week thurs-monday or next week Monday onwards.

It doesn't have to be fancy but if it's located over on the west side then even better. It can be fancy cottage stuff in the peak too but as this is reconnaissance and not a holiday, the cheaper the better.

You could try contacting the university, in the summer term many universities have some rentable accommodation.
