Best Peak Grit Guidebook?

Hello all,

Going camping in Edale this weekend and if the weather stays anything like this then we will definitely be on the rock. What's the best guidebook to get? Also is there one Peak bible or is it better to get area specific books.

Thanks!

There's no one book to cover all of the Peak grit, but the Rockfax Eastern Grit covers most of the grit crags you're likely to go to from Edale. (Not the ones up on Kinder though, they're in Western Grit.)

The latest BMC definitive guides are excellent, but probably not worth it unless you're planning to spend a fair bit of time in the Peak.
(You'd be wanting 3 of them to cover the same area as Eastern Grit.)

if you are not interested in going into the extreme grades then you could do worse than buying the Vertebrate peak climbing guide as does the whole peak, sport trad and bouldering is only around £15 on ebay and aint bad
