Attempted Murder?

On a walk in the South Downs which is popular with mountain bike riders I came across a police notice asking for information about people responsible for stretching nylon fishing wire between trees across the track at about neck height for a cyclist.

What sort of moron does something like this?

In reply to Trangia: Sadly this doesn't surprise me. I cycled the South Downs Way in a day a few years back (when I was in a whole different realm of fitness to now), during the daylight hours I came in for a surprising amount of abuse from people out walking ranging from muttered insults up to walking poles being swung at me. There really is a strong belief from some quarters that bikes shouldn't be on the path, unfortunately a few nutters take it even further.....
