As above

Tuesday looks awesome. Scrambles offer a walk in and quite a good work out! But they need to be long enough....

Any ideas for any in the lakes? Things like Pinnacle ridge are too short....

Shame there is not an Anoch Eagach, or a Crib Gogh nearby....

Thanks

Cam Crag ridge from Borrowdale, then head over to Allen crag, then to Great Gable Climbers Traverse from the stretcher box , thread the Napes needle, then Sphinx Ridge, Westmorland Crag, should make for a pretty long day out scrambling with the long light nights

Spent a reasonable outing on Scawfell today from Wasdale linking a few things together in beautiful weather through some good scenery. Route is roughly:

Start up the bottom of Piers Gill before escaping about a third of the way up (just above where Greta Gill joins in) then head up to Round How and up the slabs, followed by the line in Ill Crags NW combe. Follow the massif ridge line along over the top of the pike to Mickledore straight into Rakes Progress before taking the west wall traverse into Deep Ghyll all the way to the top of Scawfell then back down towards Wasdale.

Whatever you do the fells are nice and dry at the moment, so enjoy!

Starting from Wrynose bottoms, begin with Little Stand (grade 2), continue over the Crinkles and Bowfell, with a few short scrambling options on the way up to Bowfell, down to Ore Gap then contour below Esk Pike to reach the North West Spur (grade 2), follow this to the summit of Esk Pike. Down to Esk Hause and down again to pick up the base of Ill Crag ridge (grade 1), a long scramble to the summit of Ill Crag. Call it a day from here and walk out. Or, continue over the Scafells and include Broad Stand (grade 3) in the itinerary. Broad Stand does feel pretty tough and if you're doing this solo then probs best to miss it out.

Or head over to Coniston area. Follow Walna scar to Goat's water, head off the path just before reaching the tarn and strike up the rocks to the summit of Old Man. Contour around and down to Goat's Hause and back to the base of Dow crag. Giants crawl (diff) to Easy terrace, down the gully, then back up 'C' Ordinary (diff) and its continuation to the summit.

Or White ghyll edge (grade 1), Tarn crag (grade 2 or 3), Jack's Rake (grade 1), drop back down to Stickle tarn and back up Harrison Stickle via the ridge nearest the tarn (grade 1)

Chockstone ridge, Buttermere also gives a good day out, include some of the tops after too.

Mark
