I am heading down to the Peak District from Newcastle soon and I will be staying at the Climber's Club hut at Froggatt Edge but I don't have a car. Is there a way to get there from Sheffield with public transport? Or at least near there? I don't mind a walking a reasonable number of km from a bus stop.

Probably Number 65 bus is closest. You can try planning a journey here:

put "Froggatt Edge, Hope Valley" as destination

if you go to google maps and put "Froggatt, adj Stoke Bar (Unmarked)" as destination it will show you where you end up.

I'm not sure where the climbers hut is in relation to the bus stop unfortunately.

In reply to jebel_andy: are you getting the train to Sheffield? You can get a train from Sheffield to grindleford, then a nice 25 minute woodland walk to the club hut.

Bus timetables here:

If you end up taking one of the buses through Grindleford rather than the train, it might be nice to get off the bus about half way between Grindleford and Calver and walk up through Froggatt village.
