Any suggestions for taking young kids easy climbing and harder stuff for Daddy to solo. Also suggestions for nearby campsites?

Depends what you mean by harder but Scugdale has lots of easy climbs for the kids and stuff up to about 6a (UK tech) to solo. They are mostly micro routes 5-7m long rather than boulders.

As already mentioned, Scugdale is a great venue for soloing and there's plenty easy routes there for the kids too. I would also recommend Wasinstones as well as Slipstones which isn't quite in the North Yorkshire Moors but not far away.

I looked the other year for a camp site near Scugdale/ Osmotherley area.

Rang up to book and could not believe the quoted price. I am sure there are some better value/ simpler sites about but check the price beforehand unless you have very deep pockets.

Just searched on "campsites uk" and got plenty to look at.
