Hi,

I'm trying to find some non-galvanised steel mesh. Its going to be used in making a bbq/smoker, so the non-galvanised part is key.

I've tried looking at several builder merchants and a few local DIY shops, but everything is either really expensive (stainless) or galvanised.

I don't need much (i guess at something like 30cm x 1m). Does anyone have any either lying around (doubtful) or suggestions as to where I could get hold of some?

There are some mail order sites, but for the quantity I need, and not knowing 100% what it is that I need, i would much rather collect in person. Bristol based.

Non-galv in a 1x2m sheet if I remember correctly, for the front of a cabinet door.

'Expanded metal' rather than 'mesh' is a useful term to google.

Can't help with your search but would you care to share your design. I'm planning to build a wood fired pizza oven / BBQ with a chimney that will allow hot smoking and a side vent pipe that will let me draw off smoke via an expansion box to produce cold smoke to feed a cold smoker.

Philip - its a bit of a simpler design than yours sounds. Google Ugly Drum Smoker. Its an american idea and they are a bit... fanatical I suppose, so take what you read with a pinch of salt.
