I was going to add a follow up to say that I've now gone with British Gas but UKC won't allow me to "Reply to Topic"

British Gas BTW weren't bothered how old the boiler was.

I bet they weren't.
When they come to service it, they'll condemn your electrics and insist that you urgently require a £5000 re-wire!!!
BG are notorious robbing barstewards.

A couple of days ago my old boiler exploded, I was quick to avoid it getting worse by quietly saying 'Calm down, calm down'.

Was going to suggest BG.

We had years of them servicing and repairing our old boiler and the cost would have been many times the premium!

They always left us a little sticker saying:

"This equipment does not meet current standards" Which was OK as it was an existing installation.

When it did eventually die, we had to get it done to current standards.

BG did this at a reasonable price compared to other estimated gained.
