Ethics debates are tedious but they have to be had, a bit like assembly or afternoon tea. Otherwise the blood-dimmed tide of bolts would be loosed, or a route would get the wrong grade, or something similarly awful. It's just unfortunate that they're dominated by opinionated middle-aged men - hardly representative of the actual climbing scene. Maybe of thirty years ago.
