Looking for any tips on good campsites on the southern corridor of the Lakes, probably late Aug. Possibly next to the sea or on Windermere or Coniston.
Teenage kids, haven't got a dog and would like to sleep after midnight
Not too scummy but also not too expensive if thats possible!!

Think that narrows my options down somewhat.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Coniston Hall might fit your needs. If the requirement to be on a lakeside can be dropped then Turner Hall in Dunnerdale is sufficiently low key. No idea on sites next to the sea.

The campsite above Rydal Water might fit the bill. It's cheap, very close to a pub, has nice facilities (showers and loos etc), good (immediate) access to hill paths and being run by the local Christian Centre, it doesn't have much appeal to the party crowds. I've stayed there with my two boys and they're both still atheists.

Thanks both, Coniston looks good, not sure I could risk the rydall one.

Hawkshead Hall Campsite, was there last year. Nice and quiet.... No disturbances at all. Seriously clean toilet blocks, even though campsite was pretty full.
