Hi guys, has anyone got the train from uk to chamonix,if so tips/advice please.Just fancy a change.

Euro to Lille and then I believe there's now a TGV from Lille to Geneve but not sure if runs in summer.

Looks like Paris this time if year, London to Geneva 7 hours with an hour to get across Paris (easy enough use Metro)

My tip if you are not in a rush is to pick a later train out of Paris and have lunch there. When you go downstairs for metro ignore first machine (always a queue) and walk round corner to find free machines. Only two stops on Metro line, so easy enough.

Looks like Lille is only winter for sking etc. when travel time drops to 6 hours.

Or go overnight direct from Paris to Chamonix and save money if booking for this month.
