Conveniently located just a few miles from the Snowdonia National Park, Beacon Climbing Centre has some of the best outdoor climbing in the UK right on its doorstep. If you've never climbed before or only done a little and want to really experience outdoor climbing, there is no better place to start! Beginners.
Beacon offers half and full day Outdoor Taster Sessions for beginners on the single pitch crags of North Wales. These sessions are an outdoor version of our well established Indoor Taster Sessions, giving families or individuals the opportunity to venture out on to the superb crags local to the climbing centre and get a real taste of outdoor climbing. A variety of venues are used and we can guarantee a great day out in spectacular surroundings!

Our Outdoor Taster Sessions are perfect for families or individuals (All under 18s must be accompanied by parents throughout the duration of the session), are run on demand, any day of the week, and have the flexibility to ensure they are just what you want: choose from single pitch climbing or abseiling on the cliffs of Snowdonia, or mix and match with a climbing wall session. Half Day Outdoor Taster Sessions: from 9:30am - 1:00pm or 1:30pm - 5:00pm.
1-3 people £120 for half day all inclusive
4-7 people £135 for half day all inclusive
8+ people £18 per person for half day all inclusive

Full-day Outdoor Taster Sessions: from 9:30am - 5:00pm including a lunch break.
1-3 people £175 for full day all inclusive
4-7 people £195 for full day all inclusive
8+ people £27 per person for full day all inclusive

For your safety and in conjunction with national guidelines, Beacon Climbing Centre instructs groups at a maximum ratio of 1:8. The price of an Outdoor Taster Session includes all instruction and equipment required.


Intermediate / Advanced.
We also run a full range of outdoor climbing courses on demand for individuals looking to progress their climbing at any level, from making the transition from indoor to outdoor climbing, learning to lead climb safely, to promoting self-reliance through the application of self-rescue skills and much more.
