Hi

Heading to North Wales this week and hoping to try some outdoor bouldering at RAC boulders - I'm currently managing most of the V3s at my local wall.

What are the landings like and would I get away without a mat? I'm a bit stuffed for space in the car once the camping gear and kid's toys are in.

Cheers

Can't recall the landings, but could you not strap the mat to the roof of the car with a cargo strap?

Very friendly landings for the most part, I boulders there a reasonable amount before I had a mat with no dramas

Very friendly landings. A mat maybe useful to keep your feet dry on the marsh side after this recent rain, and some of the routes on the left side get a bit high for comfortably falling off without a mat. The uber classic slopy traverse is easier on your back with a mat too.

I could do that but I'd have to buy one first!
If it was needed, I'd get one and strap it to the roof but for this trip it would be easier I can get by without, especially as i'm only likely to get a couple of hours done

Cheers
