hi,i'm trying to buy some kit that is not available in the UK, is widely available in the US, but none of the US retailers ship to UK. i've been advised to seek out a freight forwarder. however, at the moment the freight forwarders want a collection address and the retailers want a delivery address to a freight forwarder as neither has a physical shopfront so to speak.
is there an easier way than this???

MyUS is the kind of parcel forwarding service you're after...

Not used it myself, though.

I'm pretty sure that Bent Gate ship internationally, try calling them.

REI, Mammoth Mountaineering, CampSaver and quite a few others ship internationally.

For what you describe you need a US-based freight forwarder.

A UK-based forwarder would only be able to arrange a courier/feight collectoin on your behalf at the address of the "shop". They would also usually handle the import duties and VAT for you (if value is over the £160 or so threshold)

What is it you're trying to import?

True, I have used MyUS several times. The problem is you have to pay a membership fee to get started, if you do not buy from US too often, it is not reasonable to pay such fees. So I now stick to another parcel forwarder USGoBuy, you can check: http://www.usgobuy.com
