Just wondering what approach people would take to cross a covered bergshrund, especially after fresh snow when confidence in the snow bridges is low and edges of the bergshrund are poorly defined?

Cheers,

In reply to MPSBunny: the same as when crossing partially covered crevasses, rope up and pray!

Carefully!

The praying might help as well....

In reply to MPSBunny: If stepping across onto steeper and softer snow, turning tools 90 degrees and plunging shafts firmly can help you up to the easier angle above.

Good to see him put on his climbing helmet before he embarked on his wee leap of faith. Nice touch
