wondering what your thoughts about it might be... rugged enough for severe clag and mtn use? plenty of pics about on line, but few if any actual reviews following use. thanks

In reply to Bluebird: I have a Roc Lite Pull. I am actually sponsored by Haglöfs and tried one of the early samples of this smock. I really liked it and have been using mine all season here in the alps - in fact the weather has been bad so I have worn it a lot!

It's Gore Tex Pro so although light feels fairly substantial. I like the simplicity of the design and the single chest pocket. This has a neat bellows arrangement which keeps it out of the way when climbing, but will still swallow larger items. The hood is very good also and can accommodate a helmet easily with good adjustment.

I really should do a review! Finally FWIW it was great to see Haglöfs have this in the range. There are so many commercial pressures against smock/pullover designs. But they remain a really good choice in bad weather, or if you wear a harness regularly.

In reply to James Thacker:

excellent - much obliged. I too love the smock principle... I've got an ME jacket which is awesome, but after something a lot lighter, less cumbersome when climbing in winter and preferably a smock. Had some other Haglofs kit, endopull and was very impressed with the hood design. Thought endpull in active might not be durable enough.. but it sounds like this might be just the ticket

PS - how is access to the pocket when wearing a rucksac?

In reply to Bluebird: Access to the pocket has been fine for me with a rucksack waist belt and/or harness on. It's not the lightest smock compared to some others but a really good balance between weight and durability. I took one look at it and thought it would be ideal for Scottish Winter...

Agree with James, great jacket. Been testing one of these in the Alps this summer. Read my thoughts here: http://wp.me/p14X6I-12v
