Whilst at the Cornice, Cheedale, on Wednesday we had to leave a couple of clips in the 7b, Old Man River, as we had to leave in a hurry.

On going back to the Cornice today, both quickdraws were gone. I appreciate it's not good to leave quickdraws at the cornice due to the sensitive nature of climbing there and they were probably removed to keep the crag clean.

I know it's only a couple of quickdraws but they are my sons and were a present.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Rich.

Someone obviously thought they'd been left by mistake. But that aside, what do you mean by 'the sensitive nature of the climbing there...'

The current Rockfax guidebook mentions that, "with the exception of lower-offs, no extra gear should be left on the routes."

That suggests to me that in-situ gear should not be left. Unlike other crags where quickdraws are sometimes left in for long periods of time.

Cheers,

Rich.

Someone else obviously thought they were a gift!
